Hyde Park Concert

The Olympics have begun! Despite being guilty of picking up the London mope I am looking forward to the Olympics. Yes, it will cause traffic mayhem and sky rocketing price tags but a little competition is always fun. (Besides I’m going to Africa in four days).

In honour of the opening ceremonies Hyde Park is giving a concert to celebrate the United Kingdom, including Paulo Nutini (Scotland), Snow Patrol (Northern Ireland), Duran Duran (England), and the Stereophonics ( Wales). The ceremonies were played between each sets, so we were able to see the queen jump out of a plane like a true MI-6.

Despite a steady drizzle, Paulo Nutini was awesome, also despite not sounding like Scottish music nor playing the one song I knew.

Duran Duran waited to play until people were drunk enough to want to be transported back to the 80s.

Snow Patrol finished it all off with a candle waving line-up of hits.

Now I’m off to download some new music on iTunes!
